Mr. Sellare is a Board of Directors member and Chief Financial Officer/Investor Relations Director of EDP – Energias do Brasil. He joined the company in September, 2000. He graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo in 1980, with a degree in business administration. Prior to EDP, Mr. Sellare worked for financial institutions in administrative and accounting areas, asset management, transactions in stock exchanges and in the derivatives market, risk management, treasury management and financial modeling. Born on July, 1953.

Mr. Sellare is member of the Board of Directors of Bandeirante, Escelsa, Investco, Lajeado and Energest – companies controlled by EDP – Energias do Brasil.

EDP Energias do Brasil is a holding company, in the utilities sector that consolidates assets in the generation, distribution and commercialization businesses.
The group operates in several places in Brazil, with activities in the states of São Paulo, Espírito Santo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Tocantins and Ceará.
Controlled by EDP - Energias de Portugal – one of the biggest operators in the European electric energy sector, EDP Energias do Brasil’s shares are traded on Bovespa’s Novo Mercado – a segment that gathers companies with the best practices of corporate governance.
Regarding the distribution business, the company holds the total shares of Bandeirante Energia S.A. (in Alto Tietê, Vale do Paraíba and north shore of the state of São Paulo) and Espírito Santo Centrais Elétricas – Escelsa (Espírito Santo).
Altogether, the distribution companies supply electricity to 2.5 million clients, located in 98 municipalities.

      1. Bandeirante – operates in 28 municipalities, in the regions of Alto Tietê, Vale do Paraíba and North shore of Sao Paulo, with 4.4 million inhabitants. This region is considered a strategic place, concentrating important sectors such as aviation, paper and cellulose industries – and has a developed infrastructure of transport, education, health and sanitation;
      2. Escelsa– provides electric energy to 3.2 million inhabitants, in 70 of the 80 municipalities in the state of Espírito Santo. The main economic activities are cellulose, steel platforms, iron ore mining, gas and petrol, external trade and harbour infrastructures.

Concerning the generation business, EDP Energias do Brasil has 1.702 MW of installed capacity, 414 MW under construction and additional 4,000 MW under analysis for development.
In September 2006, the “Peixe Angical” hydro power plant (HPP) started its commercial operation, with 452 MW of installed capacity. Located in the state of Tocantins, the undertaking required R$ 1.6 billion of investment, in a partnership with Furnas Centrais Elétricas. In October 2006, the fourth engine of Mascarenhas HPP (Espírito Santo) started the operation, contributing with additional 49.5 MW to the Group’s total installed capacity.
In 2007, EDP Energias do Brasil started the construction of Santa Fé Small Hydro Plant (SHP), in the state of Espírito Santo, contributing with additional 29 MW to the Group’s installed capacity, with an investment of R$125 million. Santa Fé and the repowering of some of the hydro plants, which will add 25 MW to the installed capacity, shall be concluded in 2009 and in 2010.
In June 2008, it started the construction of Pecém I, a coal-fired Thermal Power Plant (TPP) with 720 MW of installed capacity. In 50%/50% partnership with MPX Energia, Pecém I will require US$1.3 billion of investment and shall be concluded in the end of 2011.
In February 2008, EDP Energias do Brasil created EDP Enernova, which will focus on assets of renewable energy in South America – small hydro plant, biomass and wind farms. EDP Enernova’s target is to have a generation portfolio higher than 1,000 MW of installed capacity in renewable energy.
Enernova holds 12 small hydro plants located in the states of Mato Grosso do Sul and Espírito Santo, gathering 130 MW of installed capacity and additional 29 MW under construction.
In the first semester of this year, EDP Energias do Brasil acquired, by R$ 51 milllion, 100% of the shares of Sociedade Cenaeel – Central Nacional de Energia Eólica S. A., a pioneer private company in wind farm energy in Brazil. It currently has 14 MW in installed capacity with additional 70 MW under study. In relation to the commercialization business, EDP Energias do Brasil controls EDP Enertrade Comercializadora de Energia S.A., one of the biggest companies of the segment.
