José Carlos Grubisich Filho

Born on January 19, 1957 in Itatinga, State of São Paulo – Brazil - José Carlos is married and has two children.  He has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Escola Superior de Química Oswaldo Cruz and joined Rhodia S.A. - in Brazil - in 1976, to work in its Chemical Division, being responsible for commercial marketing and foreign trade activities.

In January 1997 he became Chairman and CEO of Rhodia S.A. (Rhône Poulenc Group) for Brazil and Latin America.  From 1999 to 2001 his position was raised to  Rhodia Fine Organics’ worldwide Vice-Presidency while becoming also a member of the Rhodia Group Executive Committee.

Since January 2002 José Carlos Grubisich is the CEO of Braskem S.A., the largest petrochemical company in Brazil and South America, leading the Company’s  integration and consolidation process.
